Representatives of the Arnold Sports Festival will travel to Doha, Qatar next week to promote the IFBB Arnold Amateur Bodybuilding Championships and related Arnold Sports Festival events.
Weekend co-producer Jim Lorimer and other staff members will attend the International Federation of Bodybuilding Men’s World Amateur Bodybuilding Championships and International Congress, Nov. 1-5.
Jim Lorimer and Bob Lorimer, promoter of the Arnold Amateur Bodybuilding Championships, attended the same event in 2008 and recruited more than 40 nations to send competitors to the Arnold Sports Festival. More than 60 countries are expected to participate in 2010.
The Festival team will be promoting the Arnold Classic, one of the world’s premiere professional events, as well as the more than 40 events that comprise the largest multi-sport festival in the nation. Some 18,000 athletes are expected to participate.
“We are excited to present the Arnold Sports Festival to an international audience,” Jim Lorimer said. “Our slogan for the 2011 Arnold Sports Festival will be ‘An Event That Attracts The World’ and the IFBB Congress is the perfect location to start spreading that message.”
One of the fastest growing events at the Weekend is the Arnold Amateur, which has grown from 150 bodybuilders in its first year to more than 300 in 2009.
