ASF To Honor Battle Of The Badge Winners

Published: 2009-12-07
The Arnold Sports Festival will partner with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to recognize the winners of the Battle of the Badges fundraising competition at the 2010 Arnold Sports Festival.

The fastest solo firefighter and law enforcement officer will receive three-day passes to the 2010 Arnold Sports Festival and be presented with gold medals by California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Along with the overall winners, the second- and third-place finishers in the Battle of the Badges solo competition will also be eligible to compete in the sold-out Arnold 5K Pump & Run, the largest race of its kind in the world.

Battle of the Badges’ competitors will also get a chance to be recognized at the Arnold Sports Festival. For every $100 raised, one raffle ticket will be given for a drawing that will include several prizes, including the opportunity to attend a luncheon and meet Gov. Schwarzenegger.

The Battle of the Badges is an exhilarating stair-climbing competition that raises money and awareness for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Central Ohio Chapter. Hundreds of firefighters, EMS workers and law enforcement officers from throughout Ohio compete as individuals or two-person or four-person relay teams in a race up 40 flights of stairs at the Rhodes State Office Tower in downtown Columbus.

The 2010 Battle of the Badges will be held on Feb. 27, 2010. Visit www.cff.org/centralohio/climb for more information.
