Gov. Schwarzenegger To Carry Olympic Torch on Friday

Published: 2010-02-09

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, the co-producer of the Arnold Sports Festival, will join a star-studded cast who will carry the Olympic torch on its final leg in Vancouver, B.C., on Friday, as the Canadian port city prepares to host the Winter Olympics for the first time.

Schwarzenegger will carry the torch in Vancouver’s Stanley Park at the end of a 106-day torch relay that covered approximately 20,000 miles.

Others who will also carry the torch on Friday include Julie Payette, Jann Arden and Michael Buble. Schwarzenegger will hand the torch to Sebastian Coe, chair of the London 2012 Organizing Committee.

The Winter Olympics will be held Feb. 12-28 in Vancouver.
