6th Annual Arnold Active Living Festival features
50+ DanceSport, Senior Games and 'A-to-Z' Fun
The 3rd Annual 50+ DanceSport Challenge, senior games and “A-to-Z” fun activities will entertain adults age 50 or better during the 6th Arnold Active Living Festival on Friday, March 2, 2012.
The 50+ DanceSport Challenge features Pro/Am and Am/Am competition in freestyle ballroom dance at all levels and in all styles, according to event organizers Mike Lorz and Terry Cavanaugh. There also will be solo routines, formations and multi-dance championships.
The 50+ DanceSport Challenge will be held 5-11 p.m. on Friday, March 2, in the Hyatt Regency Ballroom, the same ballroom used for the Ohio Star Ball.
Senior Games are presented as a warmup for the summer, 2012 Central Ohio Senior Olympics. Included are chair volleyball and line dance, which are team competitions, the new Backyard Triathlon, fencing, table tennis, and an outdoor 5K run. Backyard Triathlon includes cornhole toss, ladder golf and disk toss. Table tennis offers individual, doubles and mixed doubles matches. Other sports are individual competitions.
A-to-Z entertainment, 16 nearby events available Friday with a Daily EXPO Ticket, including: amateur strongman; armwrestling; artist competition; chair volleyball; the 700-booth EXPO; fencing; gymnastics; line dance; pilates; powerlifting; table tennis; weightlifting; women’s bodybuilding, figure and fitness; and zumba.
