The Arnold Grappling Championships are expected to grow bigger and better in 2013 partnering with the Abu Dhabi Combat Club and our military to bring new exciting competitions & also having the standard 2013 Arnold Grappling event…
In recognition of our nation's military we will be adding a free to our military grappling competition on Friday, March 1,2013. Called Operation Let's Roll, There will be 150 spots available all free on a first-come-first serve basis for the following personnel: veterans, active duty, reserve, National Guard, ROTC, and JROTC. In addition, family members of the aforementioned personnel also qualify to compete.
The Arnold Grappling Championships will be held March 2-3 in Columbus, Ohio, with all No-Gi divisions to be held on Saturday March 2 and all Gi divisions set for Sunday, March 3. Special Pre-registration pricing for the Arnold grappling will take place until February 17, 2013. Late registration will take place until the morning of competition.
In addition, in an effort to increase the level of competition, the Arnold Grappling Championships will run an official ADCC (Abu Dhabi Combat Club) expert portion of the show. The Expert or Advance no-Gi divisions of the men’s and women’s adult divisions will compete in ADCC style.
The winners of this advanced adult competition will receive free entry into the ADCC World Championships held later in the year. This competition will qualify seven athletes who will travel to Dubai to compete for a $1 million prize purse! The ADCC World Federation will bring its head referee from the Abu Dhabi Combat Club to oversee the competition the Arnold Grappling Championships. (Note: this is only the Men and Women Adult Advanced division. All other divisions will have normal Gi and no-Gi rules. Passport or birth certificate with identification required, 18 years old and over only, and bring a copy of paytment to competition) For more information on rules, click the link!

Workshops Announced!
The Arnold Grappling Jiu-Jitsu Challenge will feature MMA WORKSHOPS featuring Carlson "The Prince of Jiu-Jitsu" Gracie Jr. and UFC FIghter Colton Smith from 7-9 p.m.on Friday, March 1 in Hall C of the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
Gracie is the son of the legendary Carlson Gracie Sr. and the grandson of the founder Carlos Gracie, the founder of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Smith, from Des Moines, Iowa, is the winner of Season 16 of the Ultimate Fighter. Smith won his official UFC debut on Dec. 15 when he defeated Mike Ricci by unanimous decision in the TUF Season 16 Finale. Smith currently serves in the U.S. Army and is based at Fort Hood, Texas.
The MMA Workshops are included in a Daily EXPO TIcket ($10 in advance, $15 at the door).
