The 11th Annual Art At The Arnold competition at the Arnold Sports Festival will be held March 6-8, 2020 with artists portraying athletes and sports action at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in the North Atrium.
Art At The Arnold features three days of drawing, painting, sculpting and other artistic media using athletes as models and the Arnold Sports Festival as the backdrop. “Using various mediums, 50 artists from across the nation will demonstrate their artistic talent before thousands of spectators and then submit entries for the exhibition and contest,” Co-Chair Kevin Buckland said. “It is a unique and fun event for the audience, athletes and artists alike -- The Ultimate Artistic Workout.”
The three-day competition consists of a half day of figure drawing and painting of fitness athlete models. In the afternoon the artist sketch and gather reference material throughout the Arnold Sports Festival. The second day artist have an all day work session using material gathered the day before. The final day artists select one piece to submit for judging and an art show. Work sessions and art show are in the North Atrium.
