The Xtreme Powerlifting Coalition (XPC) returns to the Arnold Sports Festival for the fifth straight year in 2017.
The invitational event, directed by Dan Dague of the Xtreme Powerlifting Coalition, takes place at the Ohio Expo Center, except for the MHP XPC Bench Bash that will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday on the ROGUE Strength Stage at at the Arnold Fitness EXPO at the Greater Columbus Convention Center .
In powerlifting, there are two categories, multi-ply and classic or raw. “Multi-Ply” refers to the multiple layers of a specially designed lifting suit lifters wear which often results in a higher weight being lifted. In “Classic” or raw no special equipment or suits are allowed.
Lifters compete by lifting the maximum amount of weight in one repetition in three events for the best combined three-lift total. The events are bench press, squat and deadlift.
A total of $15,000 in cash awards will be awarded to the top coefficient lifters (body weight vs weight lifted) in each division and the first- and second-place finishes in each division. Third-place lifters will receive sponsor products. In the separate bench press competition, first-place winners receive $1,500.

Public Parking will be available at the Ohio Expo Center for $6. FREE Shuttles will transport attendees between the Ohio Expo Center and the Greater Columbus Convention Center on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
